Get Shockwave to play our bitchin' games.

Spiffs O' Fire requires the Shockwave plug-in...

Hair's Notes

Spiffs O'Fire! was written directly after I had finished Super Spiff Ball.  I was into an 80's game design kick and was marveling at how the simplicity of an interface like Kaboom! kept both me and my mom entertained for hours on end.  (Mom kicked ass at Kaboom! and only I knew the secret identity of the Centipede master whose initials, "MOM", topped the high score boards of both Putt Putt Golf & Games and Crazy Cats Video Arcade for months on end.)

Anyway, I tried to duplicate the stunning game play of Kaboom! and succeeded in only the most marginal of terms.  I really don't have a working copy of Kaboom! to study and I got kind of bored with the Spiffs O'Fire! version.

But, I love the fact that I happened to find a photograph of Bowman that fit the game design perfectly.  Visually, I'm very proud of it mainly because it is such an obvious ripoff to anyone who has played the original classic that it goes into parody/tribute.  (Kind of like Oasis.)

Designed and coded August 1999.
Hair's High Score: 121000
